Since the recall is product liability driven from the risk of fire, Dometic WILL not stand behind any repair done by someone who is not Dometic approved. Not worth the risk.

Having lived in mine for a winter in Colorado I would seriously consider wood. Aluminum is a huge heat sink and very few manufacturers recognize this and take steps to insulate the aluminum from the wall board. A properly constructed wood wall where the wood, insulation board(preferable to fiberglass batt) and interior and exterior wall board are glued and vacuum bonded together would as strong if not stronger than aluminum construction. It will also be heavier. Hence the huge weight of the Teton rigs

Had another customer been parked under it, they probably would not have survived; you can beat all the parties would have been sued ( including the building contractor,architectual firm). Sorry it happened to this guy, but who knows, maybe he actually saved lives by bringing it down and before it potentially came down on a family during a high wind gust day. My thoughts also.

RE: Watch the height restrictions

I've always wondered whether they remembered to change the clearance signs when they repaved and added six inches of fresh asphault on the roadway. Not always. I deal with over height loads occasionally and many drivers tell me that the signs are often off by one to two inches. The wrong direction. New asphalt!

ST tires are nowhere near the quality of an LT. They do not have to meet the same stringent requirements of an LT tire. If you are lucky enough to have 16" wheels and they are rated for the 80psi of an LT then by all means run an LT. XPS ribs are a great tire and look at their pricing this way. If you have a tire disintegrate at 60+ mph it may well do a couple of thousand dollars damage to your rig. Four XPS Ribs are about a 900 bucks. I have never heard of an XPS disintegrating but have thousands of stories about STs blowing up and taking out the entire area around the wheel well.

Since it did it and then repaired itself it can only be one thing. The vanes in the turbo hung closed and wouldn't allow the turbo to make full boost. A very common and known issue with 6.0 PSD. Unless it has changed the Ford fix is a new turbo. Occasionally it can be repaired by replacing the actuator that drives the turbo charger vanes. Do yourself another favor and google 6.0 PSD EGR block off plate. This will save you from the other huge problem with this motor. The EGR system is total junk and is subject clogging up and also the EGR cooler is a weak link. Blockiing the system off will solve both of these problems. I hope you've got an extended warranty. BTW, a clogged fuel filter will not cause excessive smoke only low power. Black smoke in a diesel is either not enough air or too much fuel. You don't think a clogged fuel filter will cause too much fuel do you?

I have driven a truck for a living and used to defend the drivers any chance I got. That is until I spent 6 weeks from December through early Feb. driving I-80 through Wyoming a couple of times per week and the 40 miles from Rawlins to Wamsutter every day twice a day. I have never in my life seen a stupider bunch of idiotic morons in my entire life. Some mornings on the way to Wamsutter I-80 would be too slick to drive over 35 and visibility that dictated even slower and the trucks are still running 60+. In 40 miles I could sometimes count 6-7 trucks in the median. Sometimes all in one spot. For some reason there was a disproportionate amount of CR England trucks. ???? It will take a long time for truck drivers to get back in my good graces!

It looked very similar to this. He died in 1985 and I saw his rig in the parking lot of a hardware store in Farmington, NM. in 1997. Hopefully it's still out there somewhere. Sadly I have no photos.

If you have a problem with me touching your laundry, I really think you need to put yourself in a position so that does not have to happen - i.e., be there when the washer/dryer stops. I don't think I'd wait around very long for the owner of a finished load to return before those clothes found their way to a table...unfolded. Your time is NOT more valuable than my time. If I had "issues" with people touching my clothes, I'd be there to tend to them myself, on time. If I expected "unexpected circumstances", and had those "touching issues", I guess I'd save my laundry for my own home, or have a laundry in my rv... Come up with an answer where you don't impose on others (making them wait for you...it's not their problem!) What he said!

And besides, what does this have to do with this thread?:h Item #3 Wet Laundry It doesn't have anything to do really with the post except that one person mentioned their paronia about having someone else touch her clothes. dead level best to return in a reasonable amount of time (no more than an hour, tops). An hour? Nothing in a washeteria will run for an hour. Try Harder! That way you won't have to worry about strangers touching your clothes. Which is just silly anyway. The average pair of underwear has 1 gram of fecal matter in it and you just used the same washer as the other person. The guy in the original post was a complete ass and I promise he would not have behaved that way if Kimette had been a man. Spineless jerk!

Mine was necessity based. For years I worked in the petrochemical construction business and having a rig to live in was the best way to save the perdiem money. First; 1972 21' Prowler TT Second; 1972 31' Airstream Third 1988 28' Kit Road Ranger FW (this one enabled me to go to college) Fourth; 2001 Sea Breeze FW (the first one I didn't buy to fulltime although I did for three months through one the worst winters Colorado has had in 90 years) I've never bought a new one and every one of them has special memories.

As you may be able to tell, I happen to be well-versed on the subject of renewable fuels as I am involved in financing them worldwide.All the more reason not to take your advice or believe what you are posting. :W LOL ….. Considering I am a known expert in this field and represent billions of dollars from others that are experts around the planet maybe you should reconsider. I find it fascinating how you and others buy into the rhetoric being spread around by those with an agenda or simply uneducated on the topic. Again, see if you can debunk anything I have written on the subject. You better have a fallback job. Ethanol will be mostly dead within three years. Biodiesel perhaps? At least it has an energy content high enough to keep it viable.

And thinking about a little more, 60k does not make sense either as it is only 15k over the 45k talked about. Are they adding anything like extended warranty, sales tax, credit life insurance or anything like that? Mark, Maybe I am being thick. Please review my earliest post in this thread and explain why a dealer would make such a bad business decision? Numbers are not fudged, only rounded off for clarity. Wholesale on my trade was 16,500 6 months ago and low retail was 21K. I ran into this same, or very similar, scenario from more than one dealer. When I posed the same question to the salesman he didn't have an answer and agreed that my proposal made sense but he stated that his hands were tied by the GM. The only thing that makes any sense is that the owner does not have the money to pay for the trailer if he takes a trade so he is trying to cover it with an inflated trailer price. Car dealerships stopped doing this years ago. You can now succesfully negotiate two deals that are totally separate and independant from one another. Mostly! I'm not naive enough to beleive that a really good deal on inventory won't affect trade in value. It will not, however, lower the trade by 20-50%.
